INSPIRATIONAL 2021: building relationships.

2021 saw Inspirational build on its relationships with individual artists, galleries, and organisations. Relationships are the life blood of the art community - its what gets things done, keeps spirits high, makes it all worth while, ands above all - makes you realise you are not on your own.
Through 2021, as editor of Inspirational, I have been able to build upon mutual friendships and cooperation, in particular, with Carl Heyward of GAP (Global Art Project) and Ron Weijers of 10dence Gallery. I admire both Carl and Ron - they have enthusiasm, focus, and a way of always making things work out, despite what the world throws at them. I look forward to working with them through 2022 - who knows where it will lead us.

INSPIRATIONAL 2022: India.

One of the many highlights of 2021 for the contemporary arts magazine Inspirational, has been its growing connection with India. As editor of the magazine, I am supremely proud of the connections and relationships that Inspirational has been able to make across India with both individual artists, and with groups and organisations. In particular, the relationship with the Lavaru Art Center has grown, and friendships have been made. Lavaru is a sponsor of Inspirational, as Inspirational is of Lavaru, and that relationship is set to grow further in 2022.
Finally, I would like to thank all of the Indian based artists who were featured In Inspirational across 2021, all those who helped to give advice and information regarding the contemporary art scene in India, and I look forward to those artists that will be featured through 2022.
John Hopper - Inspirational editor.

Welcome to the 56th issue of the arts magazine Inspirational, the last issue of 2021.
Paul Koskinen: Canada based fine art painter Paul, takes us through his journey as an artist in these covid strewn times. In a fascinating written piece, Paul offers us the challenges faced by artists through repeated lockdowns and restrictions, particularly when it comes to actual lack of painting materials. But through this, Paul shows the endurance and adaptability of artists to shift gears and refocus. In this case, through photography, Paul gives a great positive affirmation in what it is to be creative and to endure in that creativity, no matter what the world throws at you.
